Daily work practices and ways that you can help keep our factory pest free. Pest management is a critical component of our food safety program. One key aspect of sanitation is the prevention and immediate elimination of all pest infestations from the factory.

  • Always maintain good housekeeping in all areas of the factory. Keep all work and storage areas clean, sanitary, and dry. Promptly clean up spills that could attract pests.
  • Remove all trash from the factory at the end of production.
  • Inform your Process Leaders, Production Coordinator or Quality Assurance personnel whenever you see evidence of any live or dead pests ( bugs, mice or birds) in the factory or food storage areas.
  • All doors must remain closed when not in use. Doors must never be propped open.
  • The door to the Lunchroom and offices shall also remain closed when not in use.
  • Insect, rodent or bird activity must be reported to QA immediately and recorded on your paperwork.
  • Report any damaged pest control devices to QA immediately.
  • Notify the Production Coordinator immediately of any damage to the factory or equipment.

       Corrective Actions

  • From the activity levels found a non-conformance process must be followed:
  • Level 1 (Minor).
    Corrective actions are taken immediately.
  • Level 2 (Major) and Level 3 (Critical)
  • An internal Non-Conformance should be raised according to CAR and NCR Farm Fresh Fine Foods Procedure, S:\FFF Technical Docs\1 – QUALITY\CARs and NCRs\CAR and NCR Procedure.docx, an investigation (5-Why’s) shall be conducted to gather evidence and details to assess the root cause.
  • Corrective actions and “extra services” must be arranged with the external pest contractor to combat these levels of activity.
